History and status

Its history goes back to the medical faculty of Turkestan State University, opened in 1919. The faculty became the Central Asian Medical Institute in 1931, was renamed the Tashkent Medical Institute in 1935, and was split into the First and Second Tashkent State Medical Institutes in 1990. Presidential Decree PF-3629 of 19 July 2005 created the Tashkent Medical Academy from them. Presidential Resolution PQ-149 of 22 April 2025 merged it into Tashkent State Medical University.
