History and status

Founded in 1942 as the Namangan Teachers' Institute; from 1955 the Namangan State Pedagogical Institute. Presidential Decree PF-356 of 28.02.1992 created Namangan State University on its basis. The Faculty of Medicine was established on 2 September 2021.
